vcfo is seeking a Senior Accountant
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounting Specialist. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in our accounting department by performing various financial and accounting duties. You will be responsible for completing monthly close
processes, preparing financial reports, and ensuring the accuracy of our financial statements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full cycle accounting, possess excellent analytical skills, and be proficient in advanced Excel functions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Complete monthly close processes, including journal entries and financial statement analysis.
• Assist with financial reporting and perform variance analysis to identify trends and provide insights.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Perform tactical accounting functions, including accounts payable, to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices.
• Serve as a backup for accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions when needed.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions, such as lookups, sumifs, and pivot tables, to manipulate large data sets for reporting purposes.
• Update weekly and monthly financial reports for distribution to team leads and managing directors.
• Assist with the documentation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least 7 years of full cycle accounting experience or a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with at least 3 years’ experience.
• Experience with monthly close processes and financial reporting packages, including balance sheet reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft products with intermediate knowledge of Excel.
• Willingness to perform tactical accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to apply them to assignments and interactions with consultants and team members.
• Displays a high level of self-motivation, the ability to manage multiple assignments, and thrives in a deadline-oriented environment.
• At least 7 years of full cycle accounting experience or a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with at least 3 years’ experience.
• Experience with monthly close processes and financial reporting packages, including balance sheet reconciliations.
