The Opportunity: Solve financial problems of mid-size companies ($10M-$50M) by providing expertise in financial and operational management and consulting with the C-Suite of some of the most dynamic companies in Austin. Ignite growth by developing key market relationships, amplifying the value proposition for outsourced financial leadership, and nurturing trusted partner relationships. vcfo is the pioneer and established leader in outsourced financial, operational and HR resources to growing companies in Austin and is seeking a former CFO who can inspire fellow C-level executives to take action in building productive and efficient leadership within their companies. This opportunity has significant upside and will give the Managing Director the ability to put their fingerprint on making companies stronger within Austin.

To succeed the Managing Director will:

  • Lead business development efforts for the Austin metropolitan area
  • Pursue and develop new client prospect leads
  • Represent vcfo on sales calls, development of proposals and closing new client business
  • Participate in regular client touch and quality meetings
  • Deliver on revenue and contribution margin commitments for the market
  • Represent company with key professional associations, lead networking and various business community events
  • Grow and cultivate a robust partner network
  • Oversee team of Consulting CFOs and Sr. Consultants and collaborate with Director of Operations, who manages the remaining consultants (Sr. Controllers, Controllers, Assistant Controllers and HR Consultants)
  • Coach Consultants on how to expand engagements and maintain the quality of service delivery by adhering to vcfos quality program
  • Effectively manage revenues and contribution margin to meet corporate and market financial objectives, focused on quality delivery, along with total revenue growth and profitability by project
  • Utilize BI and KPIs to deliver on objectives and drive improvement and efficiency

DNA of a successful Managing Director:

  • 15+ years of accounting and finance experience in high growth and middle-market growth companies
  • 7+ years of CFO experience in 5-300M revenue companies; some COO experience may be considered as part of CFO requirement
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • CPA (active or not)
  • MBA a plus
  • Results oriented business leader with strong leadership
  • Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Public Accounting experience a plus
  • Technically proficient financial professional
