As a Consulting Sr. Controller for vcfo, you will:
- Work with vcfo team members and partner with leadership teams at companies based in and around Houston
- Engage with the client’s team, adapting to a variety of client environments and industries
- Generation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements
- Manage full accounting cycle
- Providing tactical support for funding activities (such as M&A support, due diligence, term sheet review and evaluation, development of proforma cap-tables, coordination of funding close)
- Creation and maintenance of corporate forecasts
- Experience managing other accounting staff and/or working in a team environment
- Work on multiple, significantly varied client engagements at one time
- Assisting in the financial preparation of Board packages
- Development of financial policies and procedures
- Providing guidance and leadership in the enhanced use of ERP systems, conversions, and/or the selection of future software as required to support financial operations
Requirements:
- BBA in Accounting or Finance required, MBA or CPA a plus
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience
- Ability to lead and effectively manage Assistant Controllers and junior level accounting professionals
- Leadership in the development of financial policies and procedures
- In depth experience with accounting software packages including QuickBooks, NetSuite, Intacct, or other mid-market accounting packages
- Employ an entrepreneurial spirit and harness our training and coaching to expand business networks and find leads for new client work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage accounting staff in a team environment
